Just in time for the AFL finals, KFC is bringing back one of its legendary game day treats.

The Popcorn Chicken Slab is back after a two-year-long hiatus.

The slab is made up of six pull-apart dinner rolls, stuffed with KFC’s signature Popcorn Chicken and covered with cheese sauce and barbecue sauce.

“We have been overwhelmed with requests from fans to bring this favourite back, so we are thrilled to announce that the slab is available nationwide for the first time since 2022, just in time for the Footy Finals,” CMO at KFC Australia Tami Cunningham said.

“This fan favourite is perfect for sharing with friends or family, but get in quick, because it’s not going to be around forever.”

The slab will be available in KFC restaurants nationwide from Tuesday, September 3 through to Monday, September 30, and can be purchased as a standalone item or as one-person or two-person combo meal with chips and a drink.

If you’re feeding a crowd, the slab feast meal comes with a selection of original recipe chicken, chicken tenders, chips and sauce on the side.

The slab’s reintroduction comes as stores farewell the chain’s Kentucky Fried Cookie Dough, which was available from August 6 to September 2.
