It tends to be during the final week of fashion month when I am reminded that “a million girls would kill for this job.” Not me. My dream career would be that of Fai Khadra: a professional man-friend to the Kardashian-Jenners with 2.2 million followers and an always front-row seat at Saint Laurent. No one quite knows what Khadra does–tablescaping/shoe-designing/ascendant Instagram artist–but he has a unique talent for being in the right place at the right time.
Khadra was among the few people who were last night invited to Hôtel Particulier in Paris, where Rosalía was celebrating turning 32 in full-look Vaquera. The musician was not presented with a cigarette-stuffed bouquet of calla lilies–like the one she gifted to Charli xcx back in August–but a single stem rose that Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid had pinched from a hotel room and taken great care to transport through Montmartre. Both of them dressed with a sense of romantic deshabilé: Jenner in an almost transparent Alexander McQueen column and Hadid in what looked like an inside-out skirt.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of everyone else in attendance: Ayra Starr, Anya Taylor-Joy, Amelia Gray, Bad Gyal, Camila Cabello, Hunter Schafer, Irina Shayk, and Willow Smith. Kylie Jenner was photographed making a late arrival–dressed in a leather bandeau with a matching flared skirt–arm-in-arm with her own full-time best friend Anastasia Karanikolaou. It helped, of course, that most of Rosalía’s peers were in town for Paris Fashion Week, but I wonder if she might also be on the lookout for a professional plus-one.
