Kate Middleton fans find dress that ‘won’t wrinkle’ on sale at Boden | Royal | News

In pictures shared by Kensington Palace, we first saw Princess Kate wear the Viola Maxi Dress by British clothing brand Boden in 2020 during a visit to Baby Basics in Norfolk. The popular frock has since sold out, however eagle eyed shoppers have spotted Boden have launched a similar style fashion fans are racing to buy.

Boden are currently running an offer that sees new styles on their website reduced by 15% so if you don’t delay in adding the Laura Jersey Midi Shirt Dress to your basket, you can nab it for £76.50 with free delivery, instead of £90. Shoppers who have already managed to get their hands on the dress say they get ‘lots of compliments wearing it’ as it ‘fits really nicely’.

Featuring a waist defining belt, a ‘lovely’ green print and long sleeves like Kate’s dress, the Laura Jersey Midi Shirt Dress takes the best bits of a shirt and combines it with a ‘flattering’ bias-cut midi skirt.

Made from ‘high quality fabric’ that is 48% cotton, the dress that ‘fits like a glove’ is an excellent option if you’re often left not knowing what to wear. One person said it’s a ‘great dress to throw on and feel totally put together’, going on to add that everytime they wear it they ‘feel great all day’.

Rating a full ten out of ten, another customer wrote: “I felt like a million dollars in it. It’s so complimentary to any figure I would say, easy to dress up and down so glad I bought it before it sold out.”

It has also been praised for how comfortable it feels, with someone commenting: “I would say that the dress has some ‘give’ in the waist area as I am larger here than the size charts indicate yet I found the dress easy to fit into.”

And this reviewer said: “Such a great dress! Fits well. Very flattering even if you have a thicker waist like I do. I often avoid belted dresses, but this works. It definitely won’t wrinkle. Great work dress that is also comfortable. Modest length for those of us who don’t want our knees completely out there.”

However, the colour wasn’t for everyone and someone said: “I really wanted to love this dress as I adore shirt dresses and have been looking for a cheerful green shirt dress for sometime, but the colour just made me look washed out and frumpy!”

Perfect for unpredictable weather, it can be worn on a warm day and ‘even a cool summer day’ thanks to the midi length and long sleeves. Alternatively, this Linen Rich V-Neck Midi Shift Dress from Marks and Spencer is a plain version of the Boden dress for £45. This Green Floral Print Tiered Midi Dress is also an elegant pick from Roman Originals and it’s on sale for £38.
