The getaway comes as the former Home and Away actor and X Factor star continues his battle with brain cancer, which he learned in 2022 was terminal.

Despite the prognosis, Ruffo declared he would not give up the fight and was still determined to “kick cancer’s a**.”

And Sims has been with him all the way.

The couple has been dating since before his initial brain cancer diagnosis in 2017.

In interviews and on social media, Ruffo has frequently credited Sims for helping him to stay strong and positive during cancer treatment, calling her his “guardian angel”.

Ruffo spoke to 7Life in September 2022 about his decision to pay tribute to Sims in his memoir No Finish Line.

He said he “literally would not be here” if it wasn’t for his girlfriend, “because she’s been there for me several times where it’s been touch and go”.
