Jennifer Lopez’s Staggering 2024 Golden Globes Jewels and the Meaning Behind the Look

Since rekindling her romance with old flame Ben Affleck (they married in 2022 after calling off their engagement in the early Noughties), Jennifer Lopez has delivered some of her best jewelry moments to date on the red carpet, showing off the very biggest rocks that she’s got.

At last year’s Grammys, an elaborate Bulgari Serpenti necklace, formed by two diamond-studded snakes totaling over 150 carats, slithered around J Lo’s neck, with one tail descending across her décolleté. Later, for the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, Jenny from the Block chose a gigantic 161.4-carat pink tourmaline from Gucci’s high jewelry collection, Allegoria.

“Jennifer loves bold, exciting jewelry that adds a personal flavor to her already amazing looks,” says Rob Zangardi, who styles Lopez together with his fashion partner in crime Mariel Haenn. “Her love for bling is well-known, and discovering new pieces that bring joy and excitement is always the most fun part of the process.”

The 2024 Golden Globes were no different. To support her husband, whose film Air was nominated, Jennifer Lopez embraced a nature-themed ensemble with nods to the element. She wore a pink gown by Nicole + Felicia with a long train and a corseted bodice adorned with giant roses, and accessorized with Boucheron jewels from its hummingbird-inspired Hopi collection. “Pink is one of her favorite colors to wear,” say Lopez’s stylists. “The pink morganite stones were the perfect match to Jennifer’s custom gown, they complemented the look so well.”

Two pear-shaped morganites, each weighing 22 carats and embraced by diamond-paved, sapphire-eyed birds, glinted on Jennifer’s ears, echoing the 34-carat oval morganite on her finger, delicately kissed by a diamond Hopi hummingbird. Coiled around Lopez’s left wrist: Boucheron’s Plume de Paon (peacock feather) bracelet entirely paved with diamonds with a central rose-cut diamond.

“Discovering the Hopi, the Hummingbird collection by Boucheron was so exciting for all of us, given its profound personal meaning to Jennifer and its significance in her upcoming album,” the stylists reveal (“Hummingbird” is the title of one of the tracks on the star’s forthcoming record). The album also includes a song called “Dear Ben, Pt. II”–a follow-up to her 2002 track “Dear Ben”–dedicated to her now husband, the man with whom Lopez has built a nest to last forever.
