‘I’m 51 but look younger – here are three subtle ways to look your best’

A beauty expert has shared three subtle ways to look “a few years younger” – and claims there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel your best.

Although we might not like it, a natural part of getting older is the associated changes to our appearance. This is probably most visible in our skin, which loses its elasticity and becomes saggy and wrinkled.

While we can’t prevent this completely there are steps we can all take to help keep our skin looking healthy and even younger for longer.

One beauty expert took to social media platform TikTok to share her three top tips for keeping your skin looking youthful.

Fashion and beauty blogger Renae Olivia, revealed her tricks for growing older “gracefully”. The 51-year-old looks much younger than her age and impressed her followers with her appearance.

She said: “I’m 51 years old and I made sure not to use any filters on this post.

“I actually don’t use filters in my stories or skincare posts either. It’s amazing to grow older gracefully and I’m doing the best I can but sometimes I like a little refresh.

“These are just a few of many ways you can subtly enhance your appearance and look a few years younger than you are.

“I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with simply trying to look and feel your best.”

Her three tips were:

  • Using self tanner
  • Applying eye drops
  • Dermaplaning.

Self tanner

Rather than causing damage to your skin in sunbeds and tanning outside, Renae uses self tanning products.

“A good self tanner creates a healthy glow and truth be told, it can smooth out some imperfections in your skin,” she said.

Eye drops

Renae explained: “Lumify eye drops make the whites of your eyes a brilliant white in seconds.

“Talk to your eye doctor first though and don’t use it everyday. I only use it on special occasions.”

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a “minimally invasive” cosmetic procedure for your skin.

“Your healthcare provider uses a special instrument to shave away the uppermost layers of your skin,” she said.

“Be sure to talk to your doctor first. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of acne scars or other skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin.

“It can make your skin look younger; though, it doesn’t stop the ageing process. Some people also get dermaplaning for hair removal.

“This is only a temporary fix because your hair will grow back.

“I do it to remove the peach fuzz. My skin feels healthier and smoother. Plus my skincare products absorb into my skin better.”

One follower commented: “You look amazing.” Another said: “Great tips.”
