Dubai: Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur made it into the top 10 of the latest ICC Women’s T20 Batting Rankings, released on Tuesday, riding on her good show in the first T20 International of the three-match series against Bangladesh. Returned to Chasing the target of 115, Harmanpreet scored an unbeaten 54 off 35 balls to move up four places to 10th position. Australia’s Tahlia McGrath is on top with 784 points followed by teammate Beth Mooney (777). Smriti Mandhana (728), Sophie Devine (683) and Suzie Bates (677) are the other players in the top five. Deepti Sharma, who bowled economically in the first match against Bangladesh, has reached the third position in the bowlers’ list with 733 points. Star New Zealand batsman Suzie Bates, who scored 44 and 52 in two matches against Sri Lanka, has gained three places to be fifth in the batting rankings. West Indies captain Hayley Mathews has gained five places to reach 17th position in the batsmen’s list after being adjudged player of the series for her good performances with the ball and bat against Ireland. Mathews, who took eight wickets in the series apart from scores of 37, 50 and 48, has gained three places to be seventh in the bowlers’ list. He has also collected a career-best 422 points in the all-rounder’s list but is second. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner is on top with 435 points. New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr has gained two places to reach 15th position in the batsmen’s list while she has gained three places to reach 11th position in the bowlers’ list. He has also moved up one place to the third position in the list of all-rounders. England’s Danny Watt (up three places to 14th) and Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry (up six places to 25th) have also gained in the batsmen’s list. (agency)
