Bookings for the updated SUV have already begun, and interested customers can reserve their vehicle by visiting the nearest dealership or booking online with an initial payment of Rs 25,000. Here are the five major changes in the new Creta, its expected price, and more.
The first significant change in the new Creta lies in its design. The SUV now boasts a more upright and boxy appearance, featuring a new grille, headlamp, and bumper. The grille is adorned with chrome inserts and a full-width LED light bar with inverted L-shaped elements at the edges. Additionally, vertically stacked headlamps are placed on the lower bumper. The sides of the vehicle are expected to remain unchanged, except for newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the SUV showcases a completely redesigned tailgate and full-width LED tail-lamps, mirroring the front design. The SUV also sports a sporty diffuser and a reimagined number plate housing.
The second major change in the new Creta can be seen in its interior. The SUV now features a revamped dashboard layout, incorporating twin 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and the infotainment system. The center console has also been redesigned, showcasing central AC vents and a single band of physical buttons.
The third point of focus is the additional features offered in the new Creta. These include a 360-degree camera, heated and cooled seats, dual-zone climate control, and Level-2 ADAS features such as Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (car, pedestrian, cyclist, junction turning), Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Following Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
The fourth major change in the new Creta pertains to the introduction of new variants and color options. The SUV will be available in seven variants, namely E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O). The color options include Robust Emerald Pearl (New), Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Titan Grey. Additionally, there will be a dual-tone color option – Atlas White with Black Roof.
The fifth major change in the new Creta is the addition of a new turbo petrol engine. The SUV will retain the 115hp, 1.5-liter NA petrol and 1.5-liter turbo diesel engines, with a standard manual gearbox and optional CVT and torque converter gearboxes, respectively. However, it will now also feature a new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 160 hp of power and slightly over 250 Nm of torque. Gearbox options for this variant will include a 7-speed DCT and iMT.
As for the pricing, the current model of the Creta starts from Rs 10.9 lakh. With the inclusion of a new design, enhanced safety features, and additional functionalities, we expect the new Creta to be priced at least Rs 80,000 higher. The SUV will continue to compete with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and its cousin, the Kia Seltos, in the Indian market.
