Huh Yunjin’s Skin-Care Routine and Upside-Down Eyelash Curling Trick

Huh Yunjin has a “chill day” in Los Angeles ahead of her, and she plans to do her makeup accordingly: “Very sun-kissed, very natural” is the vibe du jour. Herewith, the Le Sserafim singer walks Vogue through her skin-care routine and reveals her nifty eyelash curling trick. But first, a deep cleanse using a bubblegum-pink device.

After applying foamy face wash from Makeup: Prem, Yunjin wets her Foreo Luna Mini 3. “I’m going in,” she declares, adding that her mom shipped the device to her from her hometown of Albany, New York. “We don’t have Foreos in Korea,” she bemoans. However, the skin-care hub does have guava toner face mask pads, which Yunjin uses next, followed by serums from The Ordinary and MAC.

As she depuffs with a gua sha tool, the 22-year-old explains that her 2018 move to Korea sparked an interest in skin care. “There’s just a lot of access to these products,” she says. “It got really fun to make a routine.” Hers isn’t done yet: After gua sha, the singer picks up Real Barrier Extreme Cream.

As she applies pearl-size doses of the moisturizer, Yunjin shares her shopping strategy. “I like to buy makeup from the States,” she says. “The makeup in Korea and the skin care in Korea is very different. It’s fun to get stuff from the East and the West, and then use both of it in my routine.”

After moisturizing her pout with coconut-almond lip balm Yunjin creates a makeup base with tinted primer, “the tiniest bit” of blemish balm, MAC’s Studio Radiance foundation, and Kosas concealer. “In the base, for Korean makeup, it’s typical to go for a really dewy finish,” she says. Glassy perfection accomplished, she’s ready for brow maintenance.

The “Stupid in Love” chanteuse uses Anastasia’s Brow Wiz, then layers MAC’s peachy cream shadow and “pinkish nude” matte powder onto her lids. Liquid liner comes next, followed by a pretty party trick.

While she was a K-pop trainee, Yunjin would appear on camera for regular monthly evaluations. “You have to look good, so I would do my makeup,” she explains. “That’s when I picked up this skill.” After curling her upper lashes, she flips the curler upside down to crimp the lower ones, too. Appraising her fanned-out, doe-eyed gaze, the singer says: “That’s just how I do my eyes now.”

Since makeup sans blush makes her feel like “something’s missing,” Yunjin gives herself a pink flush with Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Powder Blush. Her lip routine includes a nude MAC liner and lipstick, coated with “a little gloss.” The self-proclaimed “blush girl” goes in with a final swirl of pink powder, adding a gleaming top coat with Charlotte Tilbury highlighter.

Before she sets off for her day in L.A., Yunjin shrouds herself in a gourmand veil of Diptyque Philosykos and Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato. “It’s a really weird combination, figs and pistachio,” she acknowledges. “But, I don’t know, it brings me peace.”
