Throughout the Renaissance World Tour, Blue Ivy Carter has been regularly joining her superstar mother onstage for a choreographed performance. Now, Beyoncé’s close friend and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland has opened up about watching the 11-year-old come into her own.
“I’m very proud,” Kelly said in a recent interview with E! News. “She works very freaking hard, period. But how could she not, you know?”
She added that Beyoncé’s and Jay-Z’s careers are sure to be an inspiring force for the young performer.
“She sees her mother in action and she sees her father in action and how they apply everything, hard work to everything that they do,” Kelly said.
Blue made her first dance cameo during a Renaissance World Tour show in Paris this past May, where she danced alongside Beyoncé and backup dancers to the The Lion King: The Gift track “My Power.”
Beyoncé, too, expressed her pride for Blue’s natural onstage presence in a sweet Instagram tribute shared later that same month. “My beautiful first born 🙏🏾 I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel,” the “Cuff It” singer wrote at the time.
Kelly also touched on her evolving bond with her close circle of A-list friends, including Bey.
“I have a really great tribe from my sisters of Destiny’s Child, of course Ciara, La La [Anthony],” she told E! News. “It’s very beautiful and wild that we’re all having babies around the same time and growing up together as mothers. And my friends who are like family as well and who have older kids and are able to actually prep me. I’m like, ‘Guys, what does 8 look like? Or what is 9?’”
