Here’s How Long You Can Loiter Around Indianapolis Motor Speedway After The Indy 500

After a massive sporting event like the Indianapolis 500 concludes, hoards of folks will usually head straight to the exits to get out of Dodge, but not this one TikToker. No, sir. He set out to see just how long he could stick around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway once the checkered flag fell and Josef Newgarden crossed the finish line.

You see, this is what GFed does. His entire page is dedicated to seeing just how long he can stick around a venue once the event is over. He’s done similar things at NFL stadiums, baseball fields and basketball arenas. It’s a fun exercise in killing time. Now though, he’s turned his attention to motorsport, more specifically: the Indy 500.

In this six-minute video, we see him start off in the infield right as the race ended (after a four-hour rain delay). Right off the top, he says it’s the biggest event he’s ever tried this stunt at, and it makes sense. Over 300,000 people were in attendance. Anyway, he then heads up to the bleachers to see what’s going on up there as folks head out. A short time later he’s able to see Newgarden drink the ceremonial milk. What a sight.

About 37 minutes in, GFed says that “Everybody left here is racing hardos,” and he’s probably right. He himself is not a “racing hardo” but sticks around regardless. At this point, he ends up near the winner’s circle. From there he goes over to the Chevys on display and some sort of private event he is quickly kicked out of.

At about one hour and ten minutes past the checkered flag, he heads over the merch tents which are still operating and goes to the infield once again, marveling at the trash left on the ground.

Now is when things get serious. About two hours into the post-race, he heads over to the pagoda to see what’s going on in there. He hops on an elevator and heads to one of the suites to see how the other half lives.

Then, he somehow ends up on top of the winner’s circle, follows a red carpet inside, meanders a little bit more and ends up just a few feet away from Newgarden himself doing some sort of interview. Wild shit, man. Wild shit.

At 2 hours, 57 minutes and 36 seconds, GFed calls it quits as a thunderstorm rolls in. That’s some really impressive work. You should really check out his whole video if you want to see the trials and tribulations of walking around the Indy 500 hours after the race ended.
