Hannah Waddingham tipped to star in upcoming West End adaptation | Theatre | Entertainment

Hannah Waddingham has taken the world by storm over the past year.

Although she has been in the film, TV and music industry for well over two decades, she only really found a hint of success with her role as Rebecca Welton in Apple TV Plus’ heart-centric football comedy show Ted Lasso.

Since then, she was taken on as the anchor of the Eurovision Song Contest when Great Britain hosted the show in Liverpool.

She’s also been cast in a sequel to Tom Cruise’s blockbuster franchise Mission: Impossible.

But next year it seems like she may be returning to the West End for the first time in years in The Devil Wears Prada The Musical.

The adaptation of the book and film of the same name, The Devil Wears Prada The Musical is hitting London’s Dominion Theatre beginning in 2024.

At the time of writing, no official casting announcement has been announced just yet.

With that said… Hannah Waddingham is reportedly at the top of the list to play Meryl Streep’s legendary role of Miranda Priestly.

Leading betting agency Ladbrokes have just slashed the odds on Waddingham playing Priestly in the show.

At the time of writing, her odds now stand at 2/1 on hitting the stage in summer 2024 as the editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes Live said: “Hannah Waddingham could send West End fans into complete meltdown next year, if the latest rumours are anything to go by. Our traders clearly think there’s something in it, with the latest odds suggest there’s every chance she gets the call-up to play Miranda Priestly.”

Waddingham is no stranger to showing off her incredible pipes or hitting the stage.

She previously played starred in Spamalot, Bad Girls: The Musical, Kiss Me, Kate, The Wizard of Oz, and many more.

With her career exploding over the last year, this could be her chance to reclaim pole position in the West End.
