Police say officers are also hunting two other suspects as they investigate Saturday’s home invasion in the northern part of Oakville on Greeneagle Dr. in the Hwy. 403-Third Line area.
“I can only imagine the fear that was felt by the victim and his family when three armed men broke into their home at 5 a.m. and assaulted him, causing injuries, including a broken nose,” said Halton Police Chief Stephen Tanner. “Thankfully, the quick response of our front-line officers resulted in the arrest of one of the suspects near the scene.”

Police said one of the three bandits who broke through the front door was armed with a gun.
The suspects demanded the resident of the home hand over keys to vehicles in the driveway, punching him repeatedly during the ordeal. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police were able to arrest one suspect after a foot chase.

Vehicles stolen during the home invasion have not been recovered, said police.
“Violent home invasions have occurred too frequently in Halton, and across the GTA this year – often for the keys to valuable motor vehicles. In this particular case, I am appalled that the individual we arrested … (allegedly) committed yet another violent offence,” said Tanner. “It’s worth noting that the weapons prohibition order is in place because he was previously convicted of possessing a firearm.”
“Our citizens should not have their personal safety and the security of their own property threatened by violent and repeat offenders who are out on bail.”
Police are looking for a man with a heavy build who was masked and wore black clothing during the home invasion. The other suspect is described as having a thin build and was wearing light-coloured clothing and a facemask during the crime.
Police urged anyone with information to call 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.
