Hailey Bieber Chose an Unexpected Color For Her Next Fall Manicure—See the Photos

Hailey Bieber’s new nails have arrived in just time for the official start of fall. (That would be Sept. 22.) Though the model, Rhode founder, and new mom unofficially welcomed in the season a few weeks ago with her maple brown manicure, she’s leaning even further into the autumn vibes with an unexpected (and subtly spooky!) color choice.

Bieber hopped onto Instagram Stories to share a quick selfie amidst life with her infant son Jack Blues Bieber, and while she didn’t give us a peek at the baby, she did show off a fresh new set of nails in a moody midnight blue. As usual, her nails have been filed into her preferred medium-long almond shape, but instead of a glazed finish, she opted for a dark sapphire shade with a jelly finish that shifted from a brighter blue to a deep, dusky night sky color reminiscent of a cool October night.

Blue is not a color we typically see in Bieber’s repertoire; she’s much more likely to wear a pearly pink or white than she is a primary color. However, she has dabbled in the blue color family in the past. For Halloween 2023, she dressed up as The Flintstones character Pebbles and paired her orange wig with bright turquoise nails, and at Coachella, she chose a very out-of-character neon turquoise.

We’re pretty sure these midnight blue nails were the work of Zola Ganzorigt, a.k.a. the nail artist behind Bieber’s most iconic and viral manicures, but Ganzorigt hasn’t revealed the exact shades behind this unique jelly-like look just yet. However, we do know that she and Bieber mixed five shades to come up with the aforementioned autumn leaf-brown set a few weeks ago, so chances are good this is also a custom color. For a similar deep, spooky season blue, we love Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish in Caviar Bar, and if you like the jelly texture, consider a few layers of Cirque Colors Indigo Jelly. See you at the solstice!
