Godrej Consumer Q1 expectations

Godrej Consumer is expected to report 46% growth in its net profit at Rs 466 crore in the first quarter, while revenues may decline 1.4%, according to estimates from Kotak Securities. The brokerage sees 7% volume growth (organic) in the domestic business, which is similar to last quarter led by 2% growth in HI, 5% growth in personal wash, and mid-teen growth for hair color and air fresheners.

“We expect revenues of Rs 155 crore in RCCL. We expect Indonesia’s growth to moderate to 7% due to dip in volume growth and adverse currency movement. GAUM revenues are expected to decline by 35% year-on-year due to Naira devaluation, East Africa business sale and some headwinds in business on LFL basis,” it said.

Gross margins for the quarter are likely to expand 190 bps year-on-year, while Standalone EBITDA margin is expected to expand 75 bps year-on-year, albeit on a weak base.

“Subsidiary EBITDA margin is expected to contract by 120 bps quarter-on-quarter to 14.7% due to lower GM and adverse operating leverage. Consolidated EBITDA margin is expected to contract by 70 bps quarter-on-quarter and expand 300 bps year-on-year to 21.6% after modeling 85 bps year-on-year increase in consolidated A&P spends to 10.2% of sales,” Kotak said in a note.
