Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has addressed the rumours surrounding his relationship with the players as speculation ramps up around his future at the club.
Longmuir is uncontracted beyond this year and is under immense pressure after regressing to 14th last season despite having the bulk of their list that reached the semi-finals the year prior.

Reports emerged that some unhappy players challenged Longmuir’s coaching methods and were even told to put their phones away all day.
But the Dockers coach scoffed at the claims, saying they were categorically “untrue” in an exclusive interview with 7NEWS.
“It’s laughable to be honest … I’ve never had a player come to me to demand that we change the style of play as was suggested,” Longmuir told 7NEWS.
“I’m really open to players’ suggestions on the way we play, the way we structure and the way we go about setting up the program so door is always open in my office for feedback.
“But to suggest they’ve come (to me) demanding that is just untrue. To suggest players have been told to put their phones away all day is untrue. I think some of those comments were a bit unfair.”
Longmuir also remains confident in his future at the club despite there being “no advancement” on contract talks.
“I wouldn’t say advancement … but I’ve had really good discussions with (footy boss) Joe (Brierty), (CEO) Simon and Chris (Sutherland) as new president and I feel fully supported by them,” he said.
“I understand there’s a lot of external noise out there … a lot of stories going around and getting blown out of proportion. So what’s really important to me is I’ve got the support of people from inside the club.
“I trust the feedback they’re giving me day-to-day and I’m really confident I’ve got their support.”
The Dockers kick off their season on Sunday against Brisbane.
They’ll be without star ruckman Sean Darcy, who is expected to miss the first month of the season, while Michael Frederick and Brennan Cox face fitness tests.
