Fox News’ Brit Hume Thinks This Is Why Democrats ‘Could Still Win This Election’

Fox News analyst Brit Hume on Sunday suggested why Democrats could still win the 2024 presidential election in November despite what he described as their “current contretemps” amid President Joe Biden ditching his campaign.

Hume pointed to National Review writer Dan McLaughlin’s post on X, formerly Twitter, that highlighted former president and current GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s continued poor favorability ratings.

McLaughlin noted, alongside a Real Clear Politics poll, that “even with everything possible going Donald Trump’s way, his favorability with the voting public is double digits underwater & has been continuously for over two years. He has never once been more popular than unpopular in 8 years.”

“Which is why the Democrats, despite their current contretemps, could still win the election,” the analyst quote-posted.

Biden dropped the bombshell news of his departure from the 2024 race on Sunday and later endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden wrote in a letter that was shared on social media. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
