Fortnite is about to be taken offline for server maintenance as part of the release of update 30.10 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and PC. After a recent delay, the new Fortnite update will be available to download on the morning of June 13. Unfortunately, the latest update will be accompanied by a period of server downtime, which means you won’t be able to play Fortnite Battle Royale and Creative (not to mention LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival) for a lengthy period of time. If you’re missing your Fortite fix and want to know when you can log back into all of its various game modes, then check out the 30.10 server downtime schedule below.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter), alongside details on when servers will be taken offline for maintenance, not to mention what fans can expect from the update.
“We’re off to never-never land!” reads the latest Fortnite post on X. “Downtime for v30.10 starts at 4:00 AM ET with matchmaking disabled a few minutes prior.”
For UK fans, this means that Fortnite will be taken offline in full at 9am BST, while matchmaking will be disabled at 8.30am.
Epic hasn’t revealed exactly when downtime will come to an end, but maintenance typically lasts for around a couple of hours.
This means Fortnite, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival should all be back online at around 11am BST UK time.
Daily Express will update this article with the complete server downtime schedule on the morning of June 13.
In terms of what fans can expect, the new update will revolve around the rock band Metallica.
This includes the launch of a new guitar item, which is dubbed Ride the Lightning. Available in chests, the item will give players the ability to create a huge lightning arc that can be used to traverse the map and damage enemies.
That’s on top of a new Loot Island POI, which will appear midway through the match. This island will contain a stage featuring holographic versions of the band.
Metallica will also appear in the item shop, as well as in LEGO Fortnite. Likewise, there will even be Metallica content in Rocket Racing.
Other new features include Expert and Cozy mode in LEGO Fortnite, as well as new LEGO Styles and Battle Pass Super Styles.
