Fortnite developer Epic Games is about to release update 30.00 on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Titled Wrecked, Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 has a May 24 release date and a 7am BST UK launch time. Needless to say, the update will be accompanied by a lengthy period of server downtime, which is likely to last until around 12pm BST. According to Epic Games, the patch will be bigger than regular updates, especially when you factor in the likes of LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival and Rocket Racing. The expanded download size was confirmed in a tweet on the Fortnite Status page, alongside a teaser about what to expect.
“Please note: Patch sizes will be larger than usual Season releases,” Epic explains. “We will let you know when you can begin downloading the update.”
As you can see from the images below, the next Fortnite update will add a brand new Battle Pass, complete with a host of new skins.
This includes X-Men villain Magneto, who will be joined by Nitro, a Brite Bomber variant and some sort of pea skin. Previous teasers have also confirmed plans for a Fallout crossover.
The new update will also add new weapons, vehicular combat, points of interest and gameplay. The Shark POI will be updated, alongside Fencing Fields.
