Fortnite gets a surprise new midweek update – New weapon joins Battle Royale | Gaming | Entertainment

Fortnite fans can download a new update on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Just days after the release of an update that focused on bug fixes and minor gameplay tweaks, Epic Games has posted a new patch that adds a new weapon to Battle Royale. Unlike last week’s update and the new season launch, the June 4 update doesn’t require any server downtime, so you can log back into the action the moment the update goes live. The new update introduces the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle from the Fallout series, which ties in nicely to the recently released post-apocalyptic season. You can see the new weapon in action by checking out the gameplay video further down the page.

According to Fortnite insider Shiina, a much bigger update will be available to download next week.

Indeed, update 30.10 is expected to launch alongside server downtime on the morning of June 11.

The update will continue to fix some of the bugs that have plagued the current season, all the while introducing new items and skins.

The Tri-Beam Laser is the latest Fallout item to join the game, alongside the T-60 Power Armour, and Nuka-Cola item, which replenishes health and shield.

The Wrecked season adds the MegaLo Don skin, as well as the Ringmaster Scarr skin, Peabody, The Machinist and Rust.

That’s on top of Nitro Splash, which gives players and vehicles a speed boost.

The new season also adds the War Bus, which is described as “an armoured battle bus, but with the ability to fire a burst EMP in the area around it that can disable other vehicles”.

New weapons include the Enhanced Hand Cannon, The Machinist’s Combat Assault Rifle, Ringmaster’s Boom Bolt, MegaLo Don’s Combat Shotgun, the regular Combat Shotgun, MegaLo Don’s Nitro Fists and the regular Nitro Fists.

Points of interest include the Nitrodome, Redline Rig, Sandy Steppers and Brutal Beachhead. You’ll also be able to explore new and returning locations such as Rebel’s Roost, Lavish Lair, Classy Courts, Grand Glacier, Restored Reels, Reckless Railways, Grim Gate, The Underworld, Mount Olympus and Brawler’s Battleground.
