Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 Myths and Mortals release date, time, leaks and Battle Pass | Gaming | Entertainment

Fortnite fans are counting down to the release of Chapter 5, Season 2. Titled Myths and Mortals, the new Fortnite season has a March 8 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Android. Needless to say, the new Fortnite season will launch alongside a big update, not to mention a period of extended server downtime. Indeed, consider this your last chance to finish up the Season 1 Battle Pass, which won’t carry over to the new season.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite will be taken offline for the Chapter 5, Season 2 update at 8am GMT UK time.

“Wave a lil goodbye to the big hand,” reads an Epic tweet. “Downtime for Ch5 S2 – Myths & Mortals starts at 3:00 AM ET with matchmaking disabled a few minutes prior.”

Matchmaking will likely be disabled at around 7.30am GMT, so try to join your final S1 game before this point.

While there’s no official downtime schedule, the fact that it’s a new season suggests that the game will be offline for longer than usual.

The Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 update file size is also expected to be much bigger than regular downloads.

As you can see from the artwork at the top of the page and the teaser trailer above, the new season has a Greek Mythology theme.

New skins are said to include Poseiden, Cerberus, Aphrodite, Zeus, Ares, Hades, Medusa, Artemes, and Odyssey.

According to Fortnite leaker Hypex, the Odyssey skin will reportedly be a free reward in next season’s Ranked Cups.

New Mythics (which you can see in the trailer above) are said to include Zeus’ Lightning Bolt, Cerberus’ Wolves, Hades’ Chains and Icarus’ Wings.

The full Battle Pass trailer will go live over the next few hours, so keep checking back for more information.

Other leaks suggest there will be a Persona crossover, new items that give players a speed boost and a Mount Olympus POI.

In terms of item shop bundles, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to hear that Kratosis expected to make a return, only this time with Atreus.

The new season will also launch alongside a big update, which will make gameplay changes to Battle Royale, Creative, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival.
