The star said he was determined to make his next move as purposeful as possible by helping Australians improve their financial health.

While discussing his new appointment, Kochie opened up about how his life has changed since leaving Sunrise.

He admits he’s not missing the 3.30am starts that his hosting job used to command, saying: “I feel like a new man.”

But while Kochie said that he’s enjoying the sleep-ins, he confessed that his wife, Libby, may not be as happy about him being home more.

“I’m not sure Lib is enjoying me being awake so late at night because it interrupts all of her shows,” he told Sunrise hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington.

“She still keeps the zapper and goes ‘Nick off! You can’t control that!’”

Kochie admitted that while he’s enjoying “working business hours now”, he does miss his TV career a little.

“A bit of me does, but it was time to go and do something else,” he said on The Morning Show.

“And I’m shooting a spotlight special in the next couple of weeks and keeping my hand in like that.”

The popular star also addressed the epic roast he copped from host Sam Pang at the recent TV Week Logie Awards, saying he wasn’t offended.

“He can only say that because we know it’s true!” he laughed after hearing the jokes.

“He did such a great job and the gags were really good. Sam is really clever because he never makes them vicious or personal or whatever. It was just a wonderful night.”
