Former Home and Away actress Kassandra Clementi has revealed some surprising personal news.
The 34-year-old, who played Maddy Osborne on the show, announced on Friday that she was engaged.
While it was the first time she shared the update with her fans, it turns out she’s been sitting on that news for quite some time — with her partner Dan McKernan actually popping the question “over a year ago”.

Posting pictures from the day of the proposal, when she was heavily pregnant with their first child, Clementi wrote: “We got ENGAGED. Just over a year ago.”
“Dan was fresh from a rescue covered in goat s***, I was waddling like I swallowed a Ford Focus, I had also drooled on my shirt during a recent nap, the sunset was beautiful (hallelujah for something nice), it was perfect and perfectly us,” she wrote.
“We’ve said ‘we should start planning a wedding’ and gestured around vaguely at least once a week with no follow through because that bulbous belly is now a giggling, crawling, centre of our universe who is better than everyone you know and who has the time.”
The actress prefaced her announcement: “I’d firstly like to state that fortunately for my midline and uterus, these pictures are old.”
Fans congratulated the couple on the belated engagement announcement.
Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac dropped a series of love heart emojis, while fellow Home and Away star Georgie Parker wrote, “Divine, utterly divine”.
“Congratulations on starting a beautiful life together!” wrote another.
“Happiness looks good on you,” noted a third.
“Such great news love, you can see it in your faces,” agreed another follower.
Clementi and McKernan, who rescues farm animals, announced their daughter’s birth in May.
“Thank you for the beautiful daughter you have brought into our lives,” McKernan wrote in a message which Clementi then reposted.
“She is a reflection of the extraordinary woman you are, and I am forever grateful to be sharing this remarkable adventure of parenthood with you.”
Clementi has shared numerous pictures of her daughter since then but obscured her face for privacy reasons.
The couple delighted fans by announcing the pregnancy in December 2022.
Clementi shared a photo holding onto her baby bump as she posed beside McKernan and a farm animal named Mike.
“‘It’s #GivingTuesday and Mike’s incoming baby sister would love it if you could help us continue to care for all of her furry brothers and sisters here at @barnsanctuary,” she wrote.
McKernan, who runs the rescue farm in the US state of Michigan, reposted the announcement on his story writing, “Mike’s going to be the best big brother”.
Clementi played Maddy Osborne on Home and Away between 2013 and 2016.
Prior to her relationship with McKernan, Clementi was engaged to American actor Jacqueline Toboni from August 2021.
Clementi and Toboni were often sharing relationship updates on social media since they began dating in 2019, but their engagement announcements have since been deleted.
The Home and Away star also dated another animal lover, TV star Dr Chris Brown.
