Farmer Wants a Wife star Farmer Ben goes public with new romance, 10 months after split from Leish announced

Former Farmer Wants a Wife star Ben Scowen appears to have gone public with a new romance, 10 months after it was announced he’d split from the partner he met on the hit Channel 7 show.

Ben – who memorably chose Leish on the 2022 series before the pair announced they had parted ways – took to his Instagram stories on Friday from Newcastle airport as he prepared for a flight to Melbourne.

The farmer, from Wingham in NSW, tagged someone special in the post he shared with his 23,000 followers – a glamorous brunette named Lily.

A quick look at Lily’s idyllic Instagram page appears to confirm that she is indeed enjoying a romance with the former reality star – with the pair seen cosying up together in photos.

In one post shared by Lily in June, Ben could be seen wrapping his arms around her while the pair posed for a selfie.

“My person,” Lily captioned the post, with a white love heart.

“Good to see Ben happy, about time,” one follower commented in response.

In another video, the duo could be seen walking on a beach hand-in-hand.

“Weekend away with you,” the video captioned, before the footage cut to a close up of her and Ben’s faces.

“Absolutely beautiful, sooooo happy for both of you xxx,” one follower reacted.

A third snap showed Ben and Lily posing for a photo on the beach.

“You mean so much to me,” she captioned the snap, to which one follower replied: “Cuties”.

The development comes 10 months after Ben’s former partner Leish announced she had been left “absolutely shocked and heartbroken” by their split.

Leish and Ben appeared to have one of the strongest connections in the season, forming a strong attachment from episode one.

“I am completely heartbroken to announce that sadly Ben and I have parted ways,” Leish wrote in an Instagram post in October 2022.

“I tried everything I could to make our relationship last after the show (including wanting to move to the farm earlier. Yes, everyone, I was always planning on moving.)

“But unfortunately, it wasn’t there for Ben any more, and I was left absolutely shocked and heartbroken.

“I gave it my all and fell in love with Ben, his daughter and family (which hurts that little bit extra).

“I am thankful for the support I have had these past few months from the other girls on Ben’s farm and the other farms. They have been true selfless legends in helping me heal.

“I wish Ben all the best,” the post ended.

Ben later shared his own video to Instagram.

“To address what’s happened with Leish and I after the show, yes unfortunately we aren’t together any more – though we did try for some time after the show to make things work,” he said in an Instagram video.

“Like any relationship, we had our ups and downs and unfortunately we just didn’t work out.”

“I had so much love for Leish and still to the day have so much love for the girl,” Ben explained.

“I mean I don’t have a bad word to say about her at all and yeah, I hope you can appreciate our privacy in regards to why the relationship broke down.”
