Fan favourite Starburst Fruit Chews back on Woolworths’ shelves

A famous discontinued sugary treat is back on shelves to the surprise and delight of sweet-toothed fans.

Starburst Fruit Chews fans flocked to social media to report the good news after the confectionary was spotted on Woolworths shelves this week.

The lolly’s developer, Mars Wrigley, initially axed the product in June 2022, reportedly due to supply issues.

TikTok foodie Ange Eats posted about the surprise restock in a video that has been viewed over 100,000 times, telling followers to “run, don’t walk” to get their hands on a packet.

However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot that the resupply came with a catch.

“We know some customers have missed having their favourite Starburst Fruit Chews,” a Woolworths spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

“That’s why, for a limited time, we’re bringing in the UK manufactured version.

“Customers should check online to see availability in their local store.”

Fans were warned that the return of Starburst Fruit Chews will be for a short time only, with customers told to check if stock was in stores via the Woolies website before shopping.
