Evil child abuser Michael Guider who killed Sydney schoolgirl Samantha Knight dies

The notorious paedophile who kidnapped, drugged and killed nine-year-old Sydney schoolgirl Samantha Knight has died.

Michael Guider pleaded guilty in 2002 to the manslaughter of nine-year-old Samantha, who disappeared from Bondi in August 1986.

Guider admitted to picking up Samantha and taking her to another location where he drugged her but accidentally gave her an overdose which killed her, so he then buried the girl’s body.

According to an SMH report at the time, he told police he had buried Samantha in Cooper Park, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs before moving her to a skip bin at a construction site at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron club in Kirribilli 18 months later.

Her body has never been found.

When sentenced, Guider was already serving time for sex offences against more than a dozen other children between 1980 and 1996.

Guider served 17 years for Samantha’s death and was released on a strict supervision order in 2019, which included a ban on viewing or accessing pornographic material — a condition he soon breached.

By 2022, he was back behind bars after a routine check unearthed pornography and child sexual abuse material on his phone.

The 73-year-old died at the Prince of Wales Hospital at 7.25am on Saturday, a Department of Communities and Justice spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph.
