Everyone Point And Laugh At The Dork Who Bought This 7-Figure Track Day Car And Only Drove It 600 Miles

Maybe you remember 9ff, maybe you don’t. The German tuning house focused exclusively on Porsche-based machines, like a late-to-the-party discount bin Ruf. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2013, but still apparently exists as an engineering firm. Before things went financially sideways, 9ff built the incredible GT9 in limited numbers, and this one — the one-off race track focused Clubsport model — was the wildest of them all. Unfortunately, some jagoff bought the mega-powered mid-engine Porsche-ish thing and just didn’t drive it. Here’s your opportunity to rectify that ill and redeem the car to its original purpose of going stupid fast at a track day.

According to reports from the day, the car debuted at the 2011 Essen Motor Show fitted with 9FF’s most docile 738-horsepower turbocharged 3.6-liter powertrain. It isn’t clear what has changed between 2011 and now, but the seller claims the car has both “1050 horsepower” and “1200 HP” in the same ad. 9FF did build GT9 variants with a 1,120-hp engine and a 1,381-hp engine, so it’s certainly possible that further power was extracted after the car’s debut, though the listing doesn’t go into the specifics.

What we do know about the Clubsport, however, is that it weighs a full 190 pounds less than the standard GT9 models thanks to a full carbon body, Makrolon acrylic windows all around and a further stripped interior. The GT9 was built for top speed, running 258 miles per hour to become the one-time fastest street car on earthbeating the original Veyron, but itself getting beat by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT and Veyron Super Sport — so when it came time to build a track car, 9FF had to throw away some of the GT9’s slippery shape to add fender flares and downforce.

Back in 2013 9ff were apparently trying to get this thing TÜV certified for street legality in Germany, but the bankruptcy proceedings probably put those efforts on the back burner. Somehow or another this car is wearing a license plate in the eBay listing photos, which makes it even more egregious that it hasn’t done more miles. I’d be happy to drive it to whatever track the car seemed suited for and go for some hot lap miles. How this car has lived for 13 years and only racked up 1,000 kilometers on the odometer is well and truly a crime.

I’m in no position to spend the $1.15M asking price for what is maybe the ultimate Porsche-based thing, but if you are, maybe you can right some wrongs here and give this thing the road trip it truly deserves to have. Make sure you stop off at Daytona or Talladega for a high-speed rip in it just to say you did.
