Max Muncy doesn’t care about your feelings.
The two-time World Series champion sees no issue with the Los Angeles Dodgers adding as much talent and winning as many rings as possible.
Muncy, 34, spoke candidly on the Foul Territory podcast on Wednesday.
“Everyone else can cry. I’m happy,” he said after two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell was introduced at Dodger Stadium Tuesday. “I got a second ring. I’d like to get a third, maybe a fourth. That’s one of those things where you let everyone else cry about it as long as we keep winning, that’s what makes me happy, and when you bring in those players, it obviously gives you a better chance.”
Snell agreed to a five-year, $182-million contract with Los Angeles on Nov. 30. The team committed over $1 billion to players during the 2023 off-season, including Shohei Ohtani’s record-breaking $700-million deal with unprecedented deferrals.
The Dodgers’ 12 consecutive post-season appearances is the longest active streak in the majors.
The team boasts three former MVP winners in Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Ohtani. The two-way Japanese superstar Ohtani has won an MVP in three of the last four seasons, including the 2024 National League award.
