It’s that point in the winter where we all seem to be yearning for spring. (Perhaps Punxsutawney Phil got our hopes up for an early end of winter.) But Milan Fashion Week attendees are getting a bit of an early taste, with temperatures hovering in the fifties.

The Italian shows tend to draw out a star-studded crowd, including Emma Watson. The star, a longtime Prada ambassador, was seen leaving the brand’s Milan store in an outfit that’s going straight to our mood board as we begin to transition from winter to spring.

The actor and activist wore a preppy, layering-heavy look: a blue and white striped button-down with gold buttons on the collar, light wash blue jeans, and black lug-sole loafers featuring the telltale inverted triangle logo. Over her classic base, she wore a khaki coat and a camel cashmere sweater draped over her shoulders and tied around her neck. She accessorized with a black nylon shoulder bag with a chain strap, a gold statement necklace, and oversized sunglasses.

What’s great about Watson’s ongoing partnership with Prada is that she hasn’t become a walking billboard for the brand. While plenty of stars adopt a radically new style as soon as they get snapped up by a label, Watson and Prada seem like a more natural fit. There is a subtlety that makes her Prada-heavy outfits still feel authentic to her personal style. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for what she wears to the fall 2024 show tomorrow.
