Elle Macpherson debuted a dramatic new look on Instagram on the weekend, showing off her still-incredible body and brand-new hairstyle.
The 59-year-old supermodel has done away with the hair extensions and the dark caramel-blonde tresses she’s become known for over the past decade or so.

The WelleCo founder shared a bikini selfie in which she’s sporting considerably shorter, bright blonde hair.
In the photo, Macpherson wears a tiny brown bikini by designer Melissa Odabash and a gold pendant by Albus Lumen.
She has a frangipani flower in her hair, which is a bleached, beachy blonde colour and cropped to just below the shoulders.
In a separate post, Macpherson explained why she’d made the change, sharing a throwback photo of her darker blonde hair.
“My honey blonde, 70s-style hair had become my calling card over the years,” she wrote.
“I have naturally fine hair, but lots of it and I’ve always felt more confident with my hair longer and in my face.
“Although admittedly, at times it’s been too long, too full, too much!
“Nowadays, I’m embracing shoulder-grazing feathery blonde without extensions — It’s a look I haven’t had the confidence to wear since 2006 — part surfer, part rock and roll.
“I love the freedom.”
Macpherson’s followers begged to see the results, which is when she posted the bikini selfie, with the caption: “By popular request.”
“I love it shoulder length. So fresh and youthful … but you’re gorgeous no matter what,” one fan wrote.
“You are forever a goddess no matter what length or style your hair is. Timeless beauty,” added another.
“Yes Elle!!! U can rock anything, we need more pictures asap,” wrote a third.
“I went shorter and shorter over the years, it’s actually empowering and sexier, no doubt u will love it.”
‘Be free’
“You look beautiful! I am turning 63 and want to do same. Be free,” one follower noted.
On the beauty blog Get the Gloss, Macpherson shared a few tips on “embracing shorter, blonder, thicker hair” and further detailed her recent transformation.
“I have been fairly careful with my hairstyling throughout my career and haven’t made a major change to my look for 12 years,” she wrote.
“But I have just cut my hair a feathery, shoulder-grazing style and gone a buttery Scandinavian blonde.
“My Miami hair stylist, Dafne Evangelista, was adamant we took advantage of my newfound natural thickness (I’ll explain how this came about shortly) so we also removed my extensions, so I could enjoy a carefree summer.”
Macpherson said the new “natural thickness” had come about via various WelleCo products, but also from protecting her hair from sun damage, using the right shampoo and conditioner, stepping away from the straighteners, and getting regular scalp massages.
She added that the new “surfer girl” look was a nod to her Australian heritage.
“My hair has always been a nod to my Australian heritage so, for me, my surfer-girl style feels nostalgic,” she wrote.
“I’ve aimed at making my hair as effortless and versatile as possible so I can go from the beach to the red carpet with reasonable ease.
“Great hair shapes the face, can powerfully enhance our sense of confidence and allows us to express our individual style and creativity.
“The key is to discover what best suits you – and how to take care of it like a pro.”
