The air cooler comes with two ice packs, a USB cord, a mobile phone holder, three speeds (low, medium and high) and a rechargeable battery that can last up to five hours.
Not only can it be used around the living space, bedroom or office, many are staying cool in front of the portable fan in their tents during camping trips.
With the sweltering weather upon us, Queensland mum Jodie snagged the budget cooler for her son’s bedroom.
“If you don’t have air con, you should check this out,” she said in a video.
“I actually bought it for my son because his bedroom is really hot but it’s really handy for my desk.”
The product has received a rave reviews online, with many saying it “does the job”.
“My mum has no air-conditioning. She got the Kmart evaporative cooler… and she said it’s been a godsend. She rents, so it’s the best she can do,” one shared.
Another added: “Definitely works, especially if you put ice packs in the water section.”
While one suggested: “As long as the humidity is low it will do a reasonable job. Make sure there is airflow (open some shaded windows or something) through the house while it’s on or it will get very humid.”
The review comes just weeks after a $24 gadget from Bunnings sent shoppers into a spin.
The three-in-one mini USB air cooler features a filter, an ice pack, a 275ml water tank capacity that lasts up to six hours and three modes — cooling, misting and humidifying.
“I’ve just bought the best little thing from Bunnings that you could ever get,” a shopper said in a video.
“It’s changed my life.”
She explained how the cooler could be used with water, an ice pack or dry.
“It can be dry as a fan, with cold water, cold water with ice pack or you can put ice cubes in,” she explained.
“You don’t have to refill it… it just acts as a fan. But cool water lasts a couple of hours. The ice block makes it hold less water.”
She said she had it set up on her bedside table, facing her pillow, as it was perfect for keeping her cool on warm nights.
Bunnings shoppers gave the product a near-perfect review on the online store.
“Works well, if you place some water in a jug and place it in the fridge, just top up when required. I am working from home with no air conditioning. This little units works so good on my desk. So reasonable for what it is,” one shared.
Another said: “Great little cooler when you need a breeze on your face at night instead of turning the air con on. Will take it camping also. Love it, and have also gifted a few.”
One revealed: “For the price, you really can’t expect too much, but I have to say it’s a great little unit. A nice soft cool breeze blows out of it and it’s not loud at all. I put it on my bedside table at night and did not break out in a sweat so it must have worked.”
However, not everyone was impressed, with one suggesting: “Water runs out very fast and weak power, good for a light breeze if you don’t want large air con running all night.”
