Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland showed love for their fellow Destiny’s Child alum, Michelle Williams, at the opening night of “Death Becomes Her” on Broadway.
Williams stars as Viola Van Horn in the new musical adaptation of Universal Pictures’ 1992 comedy fantasy film of the same name, which starred Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and Isabella Rossellini (Williams’ Horn is an updated version of Rossellini’s character, Lisle von Rhuman).
Beyoncé posted footage on Instagram Saturday from the trio’s reunion as they posed backstage alongside the “Texas Hold ’Em” singer’s mom, Tina Knowles, at the musical’s premiere at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Thursday.
Beyoncé didn’t caption the cheerful link up but set the video to the tune of her song with Miley Cyrus, “II Most Wanted,” which features the lyrics, “I’ll be your shotgun rider till the day I die.”
In a separate post, the “16 Carriages” singer shared snapshots of the group’s evening, including several behind-the-scenes pictures of the former Destiny’s Child members with the show’s program and hanging out offstage following Williams’ performance.
Williams gushed over reuniting with her former group members, commenting on the post, “I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4ever! 🤍💫.”
Fans of Destiny’s Child praised the group’s touching meetup in the comments section.
“I’ve never seen a group, male or female, support each other like this 20+years after disbanding. What an example,” one person wrote.
Another commented, “Love that you’re supporting your sister!”
“Nothing like a heartwarming reunion to support fam,” someone else said.
Destiny’s Child, originally named Girl’s Tyme, formed in the early ’90s in Houston. The group began with six members: Beyoncé and Rowland, as well as LaTavia Roberson, Támar Davis, and Nikki and Nina Taylor.
In its final form, Destiny’s Child consisted of Knowles, Rowland and Williams. The trio churned out massive hits like “Lose My Breath,” “Soldier” and “Cater 2 U” before disbanding in 2006.
