Dealer Somehow Managed To Sell A Brand-New Dodge Dart Last Month

Supposedly, the years go by faster as you age, but the last eight years have done nothing but disprove that notion. It hasn’t even been a full decade since 2016, and yet, it feels like an entire lifetime ago. Heck, back then, Dodge even still sold the Dart. So imagine our surprise when we saw Motor1 noticed Dodge somehow managed to sell a single Dart in September. You know, a car that went out of production before Disney released “Moana” in theaters.

Unfortunately for us, unless we somehow manage to track down the dealership that sold the car, that’s about all the information we have on the sale. An unsold Dodge Dart existed on a lot somewhere, and it has now been sold. We’d like to imagine it was sold to someone who recognized what they were looking at, was offered a great deal on it and decided to take the gamble on a car that had been sitting for eight years. There’s just no way to tell.

If it was a regular person, though, we’re much more concerned. It may have never been sold before, but it’s still an eight-year-old car, and we have no idea how frequently it was driven or what kind of condition it was in when it was sold. Heck, we don’t even know if it was built in 2016. It could easily be even older. What we do know, though, is that the dealer hadn’t even seen “La La Land” yet when they took delivery of the Dart.

Even with warranty coverage, there’s a good chance this car will require a decent bit of work over the next year or two as the new owner slowly discovers everything that’s degraded or gone wrong since it rolled off the production line. On the other hand, not many people can say they just bought a brand-new Dodge Dart in 2024. That’s got to be worth something in some community somewhere, right?
