Many of those in-the-know savvy car buyers know that there are often some good discounts to be had at the dealership lot if you have a Costco membership. I got a grand off the Buick Regal TourX we purchased back in 2018 for being Costco members. And that’s in addition to the often incredible deals on four-gallon tubs of mayonnaise you can find inside the store! For the next year Costco is offering up to $2,000 off the MSRP of a variety of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to help you save some dollars at the Costco gas station, too.

The biggest discount on offer, the full-boat $2,000, is available on the new Polestar 3 (pictured above), dropping its base MSRP from $74,800 to $72,800, or the big XC90 PHEV. If those are too rich for your blood, you can get $1,500 off a Volvo XC60 PHEV.

Everything else on Costco’s discount list is eligible for a $1,000 price reduction. That list comprises the Cadillac’s Lyriq, Chevrolet’s Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV, as well as GMC’s Hummer EV (both pickup and SUV), or Sierra EV, plus Volvo’s EX40.

“In the fourth-quarter promotions held in the past two years, we included two electric vehicles from one manufacturer,” Jay Maxwell, Costco Auto Program general manager said in a statement. “This year, nearly half of the vehicles — 10 out of 23 — are BEVs. Interest is growing, so it’s only fitting that we give Costco members a variety of electric vehicles to choose from.”

Costco said its customer requests for discounts through its auto program on electric vehicles rose 31 percent year over year, so the retailer is going all-in on EVs and PHEVs this year. If you need a lot more room and can’t live without gasoline, Costco is also offering $1,000 off Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade full-size SUVs.
