MANILA, Philippines–Chery Tiggo returned to winning ways in the PVL All-Filipino Conference with a 26-24, 25-15, 25-18 sweep of Nxled on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.

The Crossovers bounced back from a loss to Cignal behind Cess Robles, who showed the way with 15 points.

“Para sa akin no pressure. Gawin ko lang kung ano yung tiwalang ibinibigay nila coach sa amin. And yun nga malaking bagay din yung nawala sa amin so kailangan ko magstep up,” Robles said.

“Para sa akin po siguro trabaho lang talaga sa training kasi sa training nags-start, tiyaga and siguro focus lang din talaga kung ano yung mga pinapagawa ng coaches,” she added.

Captain Aby Maraño also shone for the Crossovers with 11 points from eight kills, two aces and a block while Alina Bicar dished out 13 excellent digs.

“Masaya [manalo] kasi coming from a loss dun sa last game namin tapos ngayon panalo kami,” coach Norman Miguel said. “Masaya kasi nagt-translate yung kung anong pinagt-trainingan namin.”

Chery Tiggo needed to mount a huge comeback in the opening frame after sinking to a 13-19 hole. The Crossovers did not make the same mistakes in the succeeding sets.

Birthday girl Chiara Permentilla was one of the few bright spots for the Chameleons with 12 points that came with 10 excellent digs and eight excellent receptions. Sheila Pineda had 12 excellent digs.

Nxled absorbed a third consecutive loss in as many games and will be looking bounce back against Capital1, another winless crew, on Saturday in the same Pasig City venue.

Chery Tiggo, meanwhile, aims to keep the momentum going against undefeated league-leader PLDT next Tuesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
