Middleton, who is promoting his new book, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, was asked by USA Today about his sister during an interview.

“She’s doing OK,” he said in response.

“It’s not for me to share on her behalf, you know, how everything’s going. But she’s getting all the right support and focus that she needs.”

“And like anything, it takes time to process.”

The update comes as Kate gradually returns to work and public duties after announcing her chemotherapy was complete on September 9.

The 42-year-old and her husband, Prince William, were seen on September 22 attending church with King Charles III and Queen Camilla near their royal Balmoral estate in Scotland.

The Sunday Times reported that she was also “potentially” going to join King Charles and the royal family at the Cenotaph on Whitehall for the National Service of Remembrance on November 10.

Planning is also said to be under way for her annual televised Together At Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in December, if she continues to have “more good days”, the newspaper revealed.

In a video update on her progress, she said the path to full recovery would be long and she would take it day-by-day.

Kate said she would undertake some limited engagements through the end of the year.

While she stepped away from most public duties during her treatment, Kate made two appearances earlier this year.

First, during the King’s birthday parade in June, known as Trooping the Colour, and most recently during the men’s final at Wimbledon in July, where she received a standing ovation.

The princess spent two weeks in hospital in January after she underwent major abdominal surgery.

Two months later, she announced in a video message that tests had revealed the presence of cancer and she was receiving preventative chemotherapy.

Her illness has coincided with that of her father-in-law King Charles, 75, who has also been undergoing treatment for cancer.

He returned to public duties in April, and has remained busy, although his daily commitments are limited to minimise risks to his recovery.
