Car crashes and flips on to Balmoral Beach in Sydney

A woman has been injured and beachgoers left stunned after a car crashed into a concrete wall and rolled onto a popular Sydney beach.

Emergency services were called to the accident on The Esplanade in Mosman about 1.15pm Monday after reports a car had rolled onto the beach.

The driver, a 33-year-old woman, appeared to have crashed into a concrete wall in a car park before rolling off an embankment on to a busy Balmoral Beach.

Both the driver and her 55-year-old male passenger were able to free themselves from the car.

The driver received minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

NSW police said in a statement that “North Shore Police Area Command subjected the driver to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result”.

The vehicle is due to be recovered this afternoon.
