Electric cars are the future, but nothing can replace the thrill of the internal combustion engine. With so many automakers committing to stopping production of gas engines at the end of the decade, it’s good to see Cadillac continuing to build the V-Series. And for 2025, Cadillac has updated both the CT5-V and the CT5-V Blackwing. Praise be.

First up is the CT5-V. The front facia has been updated with a redesigned grille, lip spoiler and rocker extensions. The headlights are redesigned with signature LED lighting that features walk-up and walk-away animations. Around back the CT5-V is mostly the same save for four trapezoid-shaped exhaust outlets. Power is carried over, with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 putting 360 horsepower and mated to a 10-speed automatic.

The CT5-V Blackwing sees the same facia updates, but it goes one step further with its aero. There are aero ground effects up front along with a redesigned grille and new lower intakes. The front and rear lip spoilers as well as the rocker extensions can also be optioned in carbon fiber.

Blackwing power is the same as well — that’s not a bad thing. That glorious 668-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8 still lies under the hood with your choice of a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic.

Inside, both V cars get updated interiors. There’s a new 33-inch curved touchscreen display that’s been making its way to all Cadillac models, combining the gauge cluster and center screens together. New for both models is an in-vehicle performance app that gives drivers real-time info on things like power and torque; the Blackwing takes it to another level with an enhanced performance data recorder that has a lap analyzer, dyno-like graph readouts of power and torque, and more. The biggest tech update for 2025 is that both V cars also come standard with GM’s Super Cruise driver-assistance tech.

In addition to the six existing colors (like the excellent Cyber Yellow), both CT5-V models get three new color choices for 2025: Deep Space Metallic, Typhoon Metallic and Drift Metallic (the last two of which can be seen above). Cadillac says the gray-like Drift Metallic was inspired by drift smoke. Sure. This is all in addition to six 19-inch wheel choices, and four interior color choices for the CT5-V and six interior color choices for the Blackwing.

Cadillac isn’t talking pricing just yet, but the 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing are set to begin production this summer.
