Out-of-favour Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson is “one to watch” in this year’s trade period, according to 7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary.
Robertson, who was born in Western Australia, knocked back offers from West Coast last season to sign a two-year deal at the Lions until the end of 2025.

However, after playing 16 games last year, including the grand final, the 23-year-old has only managed just two senior games this season.
He has spent the past six weeks in the VFL and has fallen down the pecking order despite the Lions dealing with a lengthy injury list.
Brisbane are also set to land father-son gun Levi Ashcroft and Academy star Sam Marshall in this year’s draft.
It could see Robertson explore a trade, which would also be beneficial for the Lions to land drafts points to match bids.
“Robertson had options last year to move back to the Eagles. He stayed at Brisbane on a two-year deal,” Cleary said on Talking Footy.
“He played in the grand final last year, but can’t get in (the senior side) right now — the last six weeks he’s been in the VFL.
“They’ve got Levi Ashcroft to come in as a father-son, and they’ve got another Academy player, Sam Marshall. They may well need points to go to the draft with the new system to top up and go to the draft (to get) those guys.
“So, he’s one to watch at the end of this season, because he can’t get in right now and they’ve got more talent to come in the door as well.”
Brisbane currently don’t own a second-round pick after trading it out last year and with proposed changes to the father-son and academy bidding process, they might need more draft capital to match looming bids.
After a slow start to the season, the Lions are up to eighth place on the back of a four-match winning streak.
They face Adelaide this weekend.
