Bridget Jones ‘leaves A-listers furious as they are forced to leave homes during filming’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Bridget Jones is proving to be a neighbour from hell for the residents of the movies locations – incuding some huge A-list stars. Filming is currently underway in North London for the fourth film in the franchise.

Renee Zellweger has been spotted on set filming alongside One Day star Leo Woodall. The new movie, which was announced in April, is titled Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy, and takes its title from the most recent Bridget Jones novel published in 2013.

However the production is proving disruptive for those who live in and around the locations. Residents have been issued with letters warning them not to interrupt the shoot.

“The film is causing chaos in this part of North London where they are shooting a lot of the film. Neighbourhoods with stars such as Harry, Rami, Ricky Gervais and Rowan Atkinson, living there are all getting letters from the production about not interrupting shots,” a source told The Sun.

“It’s gone down like a lead balloon with some of them and of course some of the normal people who live and work there. The letters have informed them about when filming is taking place and they have been asked to either leave their homes during this time or not to come and go at certain times.

“It’s like they’re being held hostage by Bridget — and it’s driving everyone mad,” sources shared.

Fans have been making guesses about the film’s plot, based on the Helen Fielding’s novels, ever since the flick was announced.

In the book, Bridget is a widowed mother of two children in her 50s following the tragic death of Mark Darcy, who was portrayed by Colin Firth in the three earlier films.

Author Helen has said she decided to write Mark Darcy out of the story because she did not want it to revolve around Bridget being “a smug married”.

While the character’s death likely rules out Colin appearing in the movie fan favourites Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson will be back alongside 55-year-old Renee.

New cast members also include 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor alongside Leo, who is rumoured to be playing Bridget’s much younger love interest.

The film is set to be released on Valentine’s Day 2025 in the US.

While a UK release date has not yet been announced it is expected to be around the same time.
