Brian May ‘feeling good’ after ‘processing my demons’ on Queen tour | Music | Entertainment

Tonight, Queen and Adam Lambert are performing their second show of their 2024 Japan tour in the 55,000 capacity Kyocera Dome in Osaka.

This morning on Instagram, Sir Brian May shared his show day highlights including his daily exercise regime and soundcheck in the colossal venue.

Sharing a video of himself from the gym, the 76-year-old told fans: “Good Morning in Osaka !! Ohayo Gozaimasu ! And a beautiful morning it is ! You can see the intervals on the screen of this bike – usually I do 8 peaks, but to give myself just a little extra energy for the show I’ve experimented with just 4 today.

“So ! My show-day regime – 40 mins cardio biking and some stretches, hot shower, cold shower, and a shave !!! Then I can indulge myself in a plant-based breakfast which today was incredible …. Then I feel human and ready to go.”

The rock legend, who has been open about his struggles with depression almost spoke about his mental health today.

Sir Brian added: “SHOW DAY !!! OSAKA DOME !!! yeeeay !!! IKIMASHOU !!! Let’s go ! Having processed my demons I have a very good feeling about today !!! cheers all – Bri.”

In an additional video from inside the massive venue that has a capacity almost three times that of the O2 Arena, the Queen legend noted some changes he’ll have to make to his guitar fireworks during A Kind of Magic.

He wrote: “Walking into ‘The Moat’ – an area all around the front of the stage and the Thrust (catwalk) and ‘B-Stage’ which is kept clear. This keeps the audience further away from us than we would like, but safety regulations these days are very stringent. Also the Osaka Fire Marshall did not like the look of my Guitar Rockets … so we will be doing that a different way tonight ! I wonder how that will go !!! Bri.”

In a final sign-off before the Osaka show, Sir Brian added: “Wrapping up sound check. some nice changes in the set list tonight ! Which will no keep everyone on their toes ! I have a very good feeling about tonight ! See you out there !! Bri.”

Queen and Adam Lambert will next perform in Sapporo on February 10 followed by two nights in Tokyo on February 13 and 14.
