Brian May and Andrea Bocelli ‘excited’ to perform together after Jubilee concert | Music | Entertainment

Two years ago, Sir Brian May opened the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert with Queen and Adam Lambert outside Buckingham Palace.

The star-studded show also included Andrea Bocelli performing Nessun Dorma with an orchestra.

Now, the two stars will be playing a set together this summer at Bocelli’s 30th anniversary Teatro Del Silenzio concerts in Tuscany.

Upon the announcement, Sir Brian said: “Excited to announce that I WILL be playing as a guest for my dear and esteemed friend Andrea Bocelli !

“In beautiful Tuscany !! How much more lucky could I be ?!! cheers folks – Bri.”

Andrea Bocelli said: “It was exciting enough to be able to see him again backstage at Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee Concert, but it is a dream come true to host this rock legend at the Teatro del Silenzio… a songwriter celebrated for his timeless compositions, one of the best guitarists of all time, and a musician who helped to write music history: Brian May.

“The joyful prospect of sharing a stage with him to celebrate my thirty years in music further heightens my anticipation for an event studded with an ever-broadening firmament of stars that promise – or rather guarantee – to make it unforgettable.”

Sir Brian is one of a whole host of special guests at the July concerts including Ed Sheehan and Shania Twain.

Andrea Bocelli’s 30th anniversary concert takes places in Tuscany on July 15, 17 and 19 and tickets can be booked here.
