A $30 bottle of wine has been crowned the best rosé in Australia after taking home the coveted trophy at a prestigious show.
Howard Park’s Miamup Rosé 2023 was awarded The Leslie Kemeny Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Best Rosé at the renowned Sydney Royal Wine Show.
A panel of judges had tasted more than 2,200 drops from winemakers across the country.

The winning bottle has already attracted a customer waitlist as it’s expected to hit shelves from late September.
The rosé has been described as “bold, pronounced and irresistible” – with hints of red berries and citrus zest.
Howard Park chief winemaker Nic Bowen said it was incredible to see the rosé win “such a prestigious, nationally recognised competition”.
“Rosé has become such a diverse and exciting category, so it’s an honour to have such a distinguished set of judges pick ours from what I imagine was an amazing selection of wines,” Bowen said.
The family-owned winery’s blend consists of white strawberry, watermelon and hibiscus, as well as a burst of Meyer lemon and pink grapefruit, raspberry and rhubarb flavours, to offer a vibrant and juicy acidity on the palate.
Bowen says fruit selection is a key factor in the quality of the rosé.
“But what we do in the winery and in our blending work plays a huge role in the finished wine,” he said.
“With the growing reputation and appreciation for rosé wines in Australia, winemakers have responded with some exciting and delicious examples.
“And it’s exciting that ours is recognised amongst the best.”
