Bengaluru resident claims quality issues in brand-new Tata Nexon. Company responds as post goes viral

A Bengaluru resident took to social media to highlight his dissatisfaction after receiving a brand-new Tata Nexon that he claimed was ‘defective’. Sharath Kumar took to Instagram to share a video documenting his experience with purchasing the SUV for Rs 18.2 lakh from a dealer in Bengaluru.

In the video, he meticulously highlighted several issues with the vehicle, including water in the headlights, scratches on the bumper and quarter panel frame, improperly fitted door rubber beading, flawed welding on the door’s scuff plate, and scratches on the tailgate frame.

Expressing his disappointment, he said: “Dreams of my family Shattered when I went to take delivery of NEXON FACELIFT Automatic Petrol Fearless Plus worth 18.2 Lakhs… as they tried to sell me a Defective NEXON Facelift vehicle without doing PDI or any QC they registered vehicle in my name.”

According to Mr. Kumar, both the dealer and Tata Motors showed no interest in resolving the issue or providing a refund. He mentioned, “It’s been a month since then, and neither Prerana nor Tata have shown any interest in resolving this issue or offering me a replacement or refund. All they want is for me to accept the vehicle after it’s repaired, along with a 2-year extended warranty. Prerana or Tata have no sympathy or willingness to admit their mistake; they only keep trying to convince me that it’s a good vehicle to drive.”

Following his post, which has garnered over 7.4 million views on Instagram, Tata Nexon responded, saying, “Hi @shras007, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Please share your email ID via DM, so we can have the relevant team assist you soon.”

In reply to Tata Nexon, Mr. Kumar stated, “I am already in discussion with Prerana CEO Prithvi and Tata Karnataka Zonal Manager Mohammed Ahmed. I am not at all satisfied with the proposed solution. We will instead meet in court soon.”
