A popular nightclub located on The Rocks in Sydney is set to shut its doors after 17 years.
The Argyle, known for its iconic location and multi-storey bars, announced it would be shutting after nearly two decades, and a string of major events.
“For nearly two decades, we’ve been the backdrop to some of Sydney’s biggest and most epic nights. From local legends to multi-platinum international artists, we’ve partied with the best, and none of it would’ve been possible without you,” The Argyle posted to Facebook.

The nightclub is expected to host a calendar full of “some mammoth events” before closing for good.
“The party is far from over, Sydney, and we can’t wait to party with you one last time!” it said.
The venue is also expected to host a final New Year’s Eve party, which it said would be a “legendary” send off.
Social media users took the opportunity to comment on the “dying” nature of Sydney’s nightlife industry.
“First it was Marquee now Argyle. Sydney’s nightlife is slowly but surely dying,” one said.
“All the nightclubs are going from Sydney, that’s why nightlife is so bad nowadays because even King’s Cross ain’t even like how it used to be,” another added.
