Beloved Sydney music venue the Lansdowne Hotel up for sale

Beloved Sydney music venue the Lansdowne Hotel is up for sale.

The Chippendale venue has bounced back twice after temporarily closing in 2015 and again last year.

The 2015 closure was due to lockout laws, while the venue ceased live music performances last year due to the then-lease holders choosing not to renew.

Expressions of interest for the venue are due by August 16, with it expected that the property will sell for upwards of $25 million.

The listing boasts that the venue has “one of the CBD’s largest combined pub trading footprints” and a “new rooftop beer garden”.

“Whilst institutionally popular as a live entertainment venue, the unmistakable scale of the Lansdowne Hotel lends itself favourably to the further and regular activation of multiple other levels,” Sam Handy from HTL Property told PubTic.

“It’s anticipated it will appeal to larger groups capable of activating a more compelling food and beverage repositioning.”
