The Fremantle Dockers have called on an Australian Olympian in a bid to improve their fitness for the 2024 AFL season.
800m champion Peter Bol was given a rousing reception by the players before he put them though their paces in a gruelling time trial.

The Dockers are on a mission to climb up the AFL ladder after slumping to a disappointing fourteenth this year.
That result followed a finals berth in 2022 and a first up finals win, before a narrow loss in a semi to this year’s premiers, Collingwood.
But the Dockers went backwards at a rate of knots in 2023 and also lost star players Lachie Schultz (Collingwood) and Liam Henry (St Kilda) at the end of the year.
New signing Jeremy Sharp impressed on his first day of training with the club, sitting alongside Bol from start to finish during the time trial.
Sharp is a known running machine and has just signed a two-year deal for the Dockers after joining them in the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period.
After four seasons with Gold Coast, Sharp has returned home to Perth and the club is hoping the 22-year-old will add depth to their midfield.
Fremantle tried to lure Sharp their way during last year’s trade period, but talks with the Suns fell apart at the last minute when the Dockers ran out of future picks to trade for him.
Fremantle personnel boss David Walls said the club had been keen on the East Fremantle product since his draft year in 2019.
“He was a two-time All Australian in the U18s which doesn’t happen very often,” Walls said.
“We tracked him pretty closely and he’s now spent four years in the system.”
“He has a combination of speed and endurance with good acceleration.
“His height (187cm) allows him to fold back into defence where he likes to help out and he’s good overhead.”
Sharp joined Gold Coast with Pick 27 in the 2019 national draft.
He’s played 23 games in four seasons but failed to play an AFL game this year after managing 12 last season.
Sharp was key member of Gold Coast’s successful VFL team this season which defeated the Box Hill Hawks in the grand final.
