Australian Nadine Caller duped by international model lover Jed Texas in Bali early release prison scam

He was meant to be her lover. A handsome, international model who ended up in a notorious prison in Bali.

But the truth was far darker. Jed Texas was in fact a smooth-talking conman who allegedly duped his Aussie ”girlfriend” into parting with $150,000.

Nadine Caller met the good-looking Brit through Tinder in 2018 and the pair started a relationship.

However, a police raid on his Bali villa in 2020 uncovered marijuana in nine plastic bags.

He then ended up in hardline Kerobokan Prison, where he spent about three-and-a-half years.

During that time he leant on Ms Caller for money — and was allegedly still doing so until recently, even though he was released from the prison in March 2024.

The jilted girlfriend now believes that Texas was scamming her from the start and that instead of the money going to corrupt officials for his early release, he was in fact banking it.

“He told me he loved me, can’t wait to see me. It was all a lie,” Ms Caller told Daily Mail Australia. “I feel like such an idiot.”

Ms Caller, who lives in Melbourne, said she long suspected she was being duped but wanted so much to believe in love.

“As a scammer does, they love bomb you and I am out 150k for remission payments to get him out earlier,” she said.

“He was asking me for more money to get him out of prison, so I’ve paid money to get him early remission to get out.”

Ms Caller said she was able to talk herself into the fantasy because she had experienced firsthand corruption in the prison, being able to bribe her way in to see Texas and have sex.

“I sat in an office with one of these (officials) who took my money in front of me and then I had sex in the prison. It was like $2000 Australian,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

“My gut was telling me he was a liar but I wanted to believe it. And that’s what he preys on.

“When I started pulling back and told him that I didn’t believe him, that’s when he stopped texting me.

“As much as I want to believe people, I’m smart enough to know when they’re scamming me.”

Texas has since blocked Ms Caller on Instagram.
