“I have a cleaning hack you need to know,” she said.
“The oven glass door can actually be removed from the oven itself. This makes it so much easier to clean without breaking your back in the process.”
Removing the door makes it much easier to remove baked-on spills, grease and stains from hard-to-reach places.
Anita said she noticed the removal process was “simple and similar no matter what kind of oven you have”.
“All you have to do is slide the door’s hinges out from the oven’s frame,” she explained.
“Some doors are also held in place by latches you can unlock by hand.
“When you’re ready to put the door back on, you can slide the hinges back into place again.
“But wait, there’s more.”
If you find stains between panes of glass, the founder of The Mise en Place said you can dismantle the oven door to get in between.
“You can remove the glass to get in between the glass panels,” she said.
“There are usually two retaining tabs on the sides between the two glass panels. Lift off the glass and make sure to handle the glass with care. They are super fragile.”
If you struggle to remove the oven door, Anita said it’s best to check your manual.
“Find out where these latches and tabs are on your oven,” she added.
Her video has been viewed more than 60,000 times — with many describing the cleaning trick as “genius” and “brilliant”.
“Thanks for this tip. I knew there was a way to do this but was unsure where to start! Will give this a go,” one said.
One shared: “My partner actually figured this out a while ago – now it’s his job to clean the oven because he does such a good job.”
While another added: “Any hack for this job is a bonus.”
