They’re two of the cheapest dishwasher cleaning buys on the market, with Woolworths’ Shine Powder priced at just $3.90 and ALDI’s Logix Dishwashing Tablets costing $7.49 for a 40-pack.
But which one is better?
With some brands of dishwashing tablets priced at up to $72 a pack at Australian supermarkets, one Aussie mum trialled the cheaper ALDI and Woolies products to see how they compete.

Sharing on a popular Facebook group, she said that one brand outperformed the other – despite being a lot cheaper.
“I’ve been using the ALDI 18-in-1 dishwashing tablets for the last few weeks to see if it’s worth switching from what we use,” she wrote on the Mums Who Clean Facebook page.
“I find the cheap Shine dishwashing powder with rinse aid to be more effective. The rinse aid in the ALDI one lets it down.”
Many were quick to agree with the mum’s findings.
“The Shine powder is fantastic. No more of that gross slime in the filter from tablets,” one said.
Another wrote: “The Shine is excellent.”
A third responded: “I use the Shine, the ALDI one I find leaves powder on dishes.”
One more added: “Shine is awesome, only one I buy.”
Said another: “I find that Shine is the best in my draw dishwasher, every other brand is crap.”
But others said they had just as good results from the ALDI tablets.
“I’ve used ALDI Logix for four years and never had any issues,” one wrote.
Another said: “I’ve used the ALDI tablets for years and never had a problem. I guess each dishwasher is different and what works best mightn’t work for another.”
A third added: “I’ve been using the ALDI tablets for ages. I have no trouble with them, at all. I wouldn’t use Finish again, it leaves a funky smell on glasses.”
